Why Muslim Do Not Allow To Enter Casino?

After a really exhausting week in your workplace, you deserve some kind relaxation mostly on your off days and so you decided to head out with your friends. Apparently you end up in a casino or gambling parlor where you can enjoy your time with your friends by indulging in a simple game which eventually draws you a high amount of prizes. But if you are a Muslim then you may find yourself boxed in by several restrictions.

The holy book of Islam, The Quran as we all know directs the life course of the Muslims and it is actually a set of do’s and don’ts which you should do to be closer to Allah and this is still followed on a regular basis by the religious Muslims. But the fact that is often forgotten and neglected is that the book was written around 1400 years ago and though Muhammed was very much wise he did not have the required foresight to advise everyone about everything for all of the time. Though a huge amount of the Quran’s advice is very much relevant to this date but the advancements in the society and technology has brought in new situations where we are very much likely to end up in and there is a very high chance of getting confused whether the Muslims are allowed to do something or not which is not literally specified in the holy book of Quran. One of the examples of this instance is the increasingly popular Online Casino Malaysia. With the extremely popularisation and legalization of the online casinos in the entire world, the question lies whether it is permitted or sinful

The concept of Halal and Haram

Halal terms as everything that is permissible by the holy book of the Quran can either be explicitly or implicitly. If anything is not stated their outright as being sinful and it cannot be reasonably incurred that it might be considered to be sinful then it is Halal. Haram on the other is the things which are stated to be sinful explicitly and can drive you away from Allah. Food items like vanilla, lard, pork along intoxicants like alcohol, drugs, or tobacco are considered haram, along with things like adultery, silk cloths wearing by men, etc. The list of things is extremely long which is learned by the Muslims at a very early age.

Is Gambling Halal or Haram?

This is actually a very tough question. A major portion of the scholars will tell you that without any doubts, betting and gambling is haram and one of the major sins. Several verses from the Quran like – “They ask thee concerning wine and gambling. Say: “In them is a great sin, and some profit, for men; but the sin is greater than the profit.” support these arguments. Well there we have it in plain and simple words in black and white, not any type of ambiguity, gambling is straightforward sin and abomination and that if extended also includes online gambling. The case ends completely here let’s move on.

So it is not?

Not entirely correct. However the Quran does condemn gambling on several occasions, but the prophet Muhammed does not. This quote of his can be found in the well-known book ” The Lawful and the Prohibited in Islam”, by the Muslim scholar Sheik Yusuf Al-Qaradawi:

He who says to his friend: ‘Come, let us gamble,’ must give charity.

We need to carefully notice how he mentions here that gambling is an abomination, or that it’s a sin or anything of the same nature. As a matter of fact the Prophet has said absolutely nothing that would prohibit gambling in any form, no all he says is that profits must be donated to charity. If a closer can be taken at the Quran, we can actually observe the exact same idea rooted in it as well. Let’s take a closer look at this quote –

“They ask thee concerning wine and gambling. Say: “In them is a great sin, and some profit, for men; but the sin is greater than the profit.”

The gambling is not that is condemned, as per the saying it the profit gained from it.

So, what’s the final word on it?

It is meant that playing at the best online casinos in Malaysia in halal, as long as you donate all of your profits to the charity. It is quite clear that in the Quran that all of your income and wealth must be earned through your hard work – winning the jackpot and keeping it for yourself is a very rather grave sin. But if you never withdraw your profits from the online casinos in Malaysia, or if you do and donate them to charity then that sin would be completely absolved. We can even believe that a big sum of money that you have won through gambling and if you donate it to the poor, it will ultimately vastly overshadow the sin you have incurred for gambling in the first place. Gambling is always safe until it turns into an addiction. Like any addiction gambling has a lot of negative and problematic things which it can bring into one’s life. It brings in a lot of financial as well as psychological complexities for the people involved but safe and smart gambling is always healthy.
