Abeer Pharaon (ProHijab Co-ordinator) has given a speech on the hijab ban issue on Saturday, August 7, 2004 : Session 4 of the conference. Under the title of 'Women’s Basic Rights'.

 

Conference Information

 

The Second Session of the Interparliamentary Conference on Human Rights and Religious Freedom will be held in Brussels from August 5 - 7th, 2004. The Conference is composed of members of national and supranational parliaments from around the globe, with the participation of members of religious, academic, and policy-focused institutions. The Conference allows members to meet and address the issues of human rights and freedom of religion with common understanding and background.

Topics of this year's Plenary Sessions include:

Ethnicity, Religion and Citizenship
Responses to Anti-Semitism
Registration Laws
Domestic Abuse, Sexual Trafficking, and Women's Basic Rights
Terrorism, National Security, and Religious Freedom
